rainy saturday morning challenges

ok
i promise not to use this as a whining board (a lieu de 'sounding board' but with a twist) but this is my experience today:
pulled left side of lumbar yesterday probably as a result of overcompensating for luxating hip on opposite side. now i look like a drunk robot when i walk.
raining today and must take out dogs regardless (husky and german shepherd mixes stubbornly retain their working dogs qualities despite being pets, hence the walks come rain, sleet, snow or hell unfurled. extra challenging with hip and slick sidewalks.
did i mention we live in an old neighborhood that has randomly paved sidewalks and 45% inclines for the most part, oh the charm of the semi-rustic life
the baby of the two dogs (and the largest tipping the scale @ 85+ pounds) is prone to seizures. she had one this morning as we were trying to get out the door and beat the rain. it was pretty long but the worst of it is what the doctors call the 'post-ictal' phase- meaning her return to actual interact life where her brain function is normal and she recognizes who she is and where she is and most importantly, who the hell you are- yep, its heartbreaking to see your otherwise loving pet cower in fright when she can't/doesn't/isn't able to know her surroundings.
in an effort to help calm her and get a grasp on her reality, a long walk is usually the antidote, preferably in an area that she can identify by scent.
but now its raining like mad and i am hobbling and lurching due to back injury like a drunken sailor on roads that are notoriously slippery and uphill and if i never post again its probably because i fell and broke me damn leg and am on a sodden muddy road in the wilds of the fairmount ridge.
