Hmm. Clear blue skies, mild and weak blue sun, brillant yellow and red foliage amid the already blossoming tulip and cherry trees in some parts of the neighborhood. One tree has not yet lost all of its leaves and some blossoms are popping out, the temperature has left the trees a wee bit confused as to what season it is exactly. One day its 38 degrees, the next it soars to a tropical 67 degrees, is it any wonder that everyone is sick? Murder on the sinuses.
ANyhooo, cleaned the gutters and culled dead leaves from blooming plants to try to force one more little show of color before the dormant season (which admittedly only lasts 4 weeks here--everything is pretty much in bloom by the first week of February) begins. Had a near miss with a skunk taking a stroll the other night, just as calm as could be, meandering down the sidewalk while nina and gigi were excited to see something interesting and tried to use their combined weight to drag me over to say hi to the little guy. took all of my stubbornness and unwillingness to be sprayed to DRAG them back with all of my weight (it finally pays off, LOL) to cross the street at 7pm at night and continue on our way, leaving the dogs wondering why i was being so unfriendly with the stranger across the road.
